Pit-and-fissure Sealants are safe and painless way of protecting your teeth from tooth decay. It is a thin coating that is painted into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of teeth. How sealants are applied on teeth?

The dentist first cleans the teeth , treat it with a solution ,dry it and then finally paints the sealants into the grooves. The sealant is then hardened with a curing light to form a protective coating.

A properly placed sealant will generally last for several years, after which a reapplication might be required to be sure that no decay can start underneath it..
